Killington baptisms: 31 August 1859 Frances Agnes d.of Agnes & Charles Bragg, tailor

Burials at Sedbergh: 5 Oct. 1862 Agnes Bragg aged 28.

GRO marriage indexes ... In last quarter 1874 I found one in W.Derby. Possible. I checked under K and found Agnes Kendal with the same reference number. She really was a spinster until age 47 and then married a widower whose first wife happened to have the same forename. What were they doing in Liverpool? Charles had been apprenticed to his tailor father in Sedbergh and by 1881 Charles & Agnes were back in Sedbergh. It looks as if Charles moved to Liverpool to work at his trade for a while and retired back home. Perhaps Agnes Kendal went to be his housekeeper and to care for his daughters.

Extracts from the diary of Agnes Ann Kendal 1876:

Wed. 9 August Aunt Agnes & Uncle Charley have come back with Father from Sedbergh. It is the first visit since the wedding. I like Aunt far better. Wedding seems to have worked a change with her. It is love or something.

Fri. 11 August Uncle & Aunt have been to Uncle Williams for the afternoon.

Sat. 12 August Father drove Uncle & Aunt up to Sedbergh this morning.
