Elizabeth FERGUSON was born in Scotland. She married Richard GARNER, a farmer on 1839 in Monks Kirby, near to Burbage.

In 1851 John FERGUSON, Schoolmaster, also born in Scotland and possibly her older brother, was visiting her in Cottesbach, Leicestershire where Elizabeth's husband Richard was a farmer of 161 acres with 5 labourers.

Richard's son Joseph must have been from an earlier marriage.
