In 1939 there is a Thomas SCOTT, born 20 Nov 1892, journalist and press photographer living at 115 Adelaide Road, Liverpool with his wife Edna I (WILLIAMS) SCOTT, born 24 Jul 1908, who he had married in 1932. There was one child, still officially closed. Potential children include: Paricia L (1933) who may have been the closed 1939 record and William S (1937) who was probably not theirs and was living in Liverpool with another SCOTT family.
No idea whether this is the correct census and marriage, or indeed if he survived the First World War. There are many Thomas SCOTTs who were causualties in that conflict, but the closest available records include:
- Corporal Thomas SCOTT, born in Liverpool, who died on 30 May 1915 at Gallipoli with the Manchester Regiment
- Private Thomas SCOTT, The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment 1st Bn, died 23 Oct 1914, commemorated at Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial
