Edward CLAY and his wife Mary were the parents of Mary CLAY.
It would appear that there are two pairs of Edward and Mary CLAYs: one based in Nuneaton and one in Chilvers Coton. While these two places are very close and it is conceivable that they alternated between baptisms, some of the dates are too close together, and the Nuneaton marriage is after the first Chilvers Coton baptisms. A single couple would still be possible if the first wife, Mary had died in 1723 and Edward married Mary BACON in 1723/24, however no burial of a Mary CLAY in 1723 has been found.
