Narrative and Notes

Joseph DAY was born in 1819 and baptised by his parents Thomas and Martha DAY in that year.

Joseph was a plasterer.

He married Selina MALINS in 1842 and they had three children between 1845 and 1850 when Selina died soon after the birth of Elizabeth Martha. 'Martha' was passed to Joseph older sister Hannah PHIPPS for nursing.

In 1859 he took a second wife, Elizabeth FLETCHER, herself a widow. There were no known children out of this marriage.

In 1871 he is still working as a plasterer in Blockley.
