Bryan MORRIS was married to Lilian HARGREAVES, who it is thought was brought up in an orphanage.
Bryan died suddenly aged 26 when a wall collapsed crushing him in a factory that he'd been hired to help clear following an earlier fire. The newspaper report in the Lancashire Evening Post 12 Mar 1957:
Man killed in wall collapse - at Blackburn
A 24-year old machinist was killed yesterday when a 30ft wall collapsed on him at the Isolatt cork works, Blackburn, which only last week was almost gutted by fire. He was Mr. Brian Morris, a married man with two children, of Henry Whally-street, Blackburn.
NARROW ESCAPE
A workman who narrowly escaped the same fate was 49-year-old Thomas Trainor, of Primrose-terrace, Blackburn. Mr. Trainor said that he thought he was alone in the casing shed when the wall - "as big as a house side" - started to bulge towards him. "As I ran I thought I heard a voice call out 'Tom.' Now I know it must have been Brian Morris." he said. A few minutes latrer when the men gathered together Morris was found to be missing. Mr. Trainor told them of the cry he had heard and the men began searching among the rubble. Mr. Morris was seen under a girder which was levered aside, but he was dead when pulled clear. Demolition work was being carried out at the time, but it was some distance from where the wall collapsed.
