Alice FURBOROUGH was likely the sister of Dinah FURBOROUGH. She married John MAIN in 1837 in the same church that Dinah had married William WEAVER 18 months earlier.
Alice gives her place of residence as Newton Terrace, Lambeth. Newton Terrace still exists, but its name has changed. It is a row of terraced houses on the south side of Montford Place closest to the famous gasometers near the Oval cricket ground. It is possible that she was in London with her sister, Dinah, selling shoes that had been made in Leicestershire by her father or other members of the extended family.
John and Alice lived in St Pancras and had three children between 1838 and 1841. She likely died in 1843 two years before Dinah.
