Two John WEAVERs were christened in 1845 in Bromsgrove which makes identifying census and other records somewhat difficult.
John appears in the 1851 census living with his father, Joseph
In 1861, John may have been a pupil at Mr Partridge's small boarding school at 116 Bear St, Alvechurch. Or he may have been the general servant at the large family house of the widow Walford on Bromsgrove High Street.
John is not mentioned specifically in the will of his father, Joseph WEAVER, who died in 1871; however, Joseph did mention his 'younger son' Joseph which suggests that John was still alive when the will was written.
If he did survive then in 1871 he might have been the Bromsgrove born John WEAVER, 24, who was a police constable in Liverpool with wife Sarah and son John W aged 12mos. Possible wedding references:
Sep 1866 - Weaver John / Fox Sarah A - Bromsgrove 6c 526
Dec 1868 - Weaver John / Price Sarah - West Derby 8b 495
And/or in 1881 he may have been the John WEAVER who was a carpenter in Bromsgrove (and possibly might have worked for William WEAVER's building and carpentry business.) His wife then was Jane who was a nailmaker, a profession more usually associated with the other WEAVER family in Bromsgrove. In 1881 they were living with a nephew, William WEAVER, aged 3. John did have a nephew William aged 3, however that William was recorded as being with his parents Joseph and Elizabeth WEAVER in the same census. By 1891, this John and Jane had adopted a daughter, Alice Elizabeth HOBBIS, aged 4.
Ultimately it is unclear which if any records are the correct ones.
