On the marriage license signed by Edward Doubleday, it was stated that he was a bachelor aged above 30 and she a spinster of 25 years. The license was for either for the Parish Church of Asfordby or St Leonard's, Leicester, however they were married in St Margaret's, Leicester. Her real age when married was 28.
