James HASLEWOOD (or HASILWOOD) married Mary SKILLINGTON, a wheelwright's daughter, in February 1713 in Asfordby, and a year later they baptized their daughter Isabell in February 1713/14. A son, James, followed in 1715, but no further children were baptized.
It is likely that James was a carpenter like his father and his son James. His father left him half of his carpentry tools when he died in 1718, along with his 'Great Bible'.
James died in November 1742 and in his will he left his whole estate to his son James, with daughter Isabell DOUBLEDAY receiving one shilling and dismissal of her debts due to him. He was buried in Asfordby.
Other information:
Twins Jacobus and Johannes HASELWOOD were baptized in Kirby Bellars in August 1680 by Robert and Francisca. John died 6 weeks later and James died a year later, so Robert and Francisca cannot be the correct parents. Kirby Bellars is 1 miles south of Asfordby.
