In the name of God hey man the 20th day of June 1624 I jeon Compton of garthorpe in the county of Leicester Milner Bing sick in body but of perfect memory and mind thanks be given to almighty God for the same do make this my last will and testament in manner and form followeth that is to say first I bequeath my soul unto God my creator Hoping to be saved only by the spirit and passions of Christ my saviour and my body to the earth from where on I came

Item unto Alice Compton my daughter £5 to be paid until her body of her marriage

Item I give and bequeath unto Dorothy Compton my daughter 5 pounds to be paid under her at the age of 20 and one years

Item I give and bequeath unto Richard Compton my son 5 pounds to be paid under him at the age of 20 and one years

Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Compton my daughter 5 pounds to be paid under her at the age of 21 years

Item I give and bequeath unto Eustace Compton my son 5 pounds to be paid under him at the age of 20 and one years

Item all the rest of it goods and chattel's movables and removables my debts paid and my legacy's funeral discharged I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Compton my wife and unto Thomas Compton my son whom I make executor's of this my last will and testament in witness I have hereunto set my hand the day and year above written.
