John son of John & Elizabeth Harris was born at Long Compton in the County of Warwick, on the first Day of the 6th Month in the Year 1668.

Mary Daughter of Thomas and Mary Mosely was born at Willersey in the the County of Gloucester, on the 24th Day of the 4th month in the Year 1669.

Whereas John Harris of Willersey in the county of Gloucester husbandman and Mary Mosely of the same town and county aforesaid spinster have at several meetings declared their intentions of taking each other in marriage both at Evesham and Broadway and elsewhere in the county aforesaid, and being free and clear from all others in that respect, and having the free consent of their friends and nearest relations, had the consent of the aforesaid meetings.

These are therefore to certify all whom it may concern, that for the complete solemnizing of the aforesaid Intended Marriage, on the 29th day of the first month called March in the year one thousand six hundred and ninety and one, at the usual meeting place in Broadway in the county aforesaid, before an Assembly of the People called Quakers, according to the example an practise of the holy men and women recorded in the Scriptures of Truth, he the said John Harris taking the said Mary Mosely by the hand, did solemnly express and declare, but he the said John Harris did take the said Mary Mosely to beat his wife; and the said Mary Mosely holding the said John Harris by the hand, did, in like manner, solemnly express and declare, that she the said Mary Mosely did take him the said John Harris to be her husband; each of them solemnly promising to be Loving and Kind to each other in that relation of husband and wife, until it should please the Lord to separate them by death.
