John and Mary his wife were members of the Society of Friends, also known as Quakers. John HARRIS of Willesley in the County of Gloucester, husbandman, and Mary MOSELY of the same town were married in the Quaker manner at the Monthly Meeting of Warwickshire Middle (later united with Warwickshire North) in 1691. Conveniently the marriage record also provides their own birth dates and parentage.
John was born in Long Compton, in the county of Warwick, on 1 Aug 1668.
The majority of their children were introduced at Quaker meetings, but two of their later children were baptized in the church in Chipping Campden.
