John has been added to this tree on the basis that his son, baptized by John and his wife Ann in April 1806, was called Joseph Stanton BAILEY and became a plaster and builder in London.
Joseph's name hints at him being a cousin of Thomas Stanton BAILEY who was baptizing his children in Hinckley 35 miles to the north.
A John BAILEY, 63, of Northampton, a pensioner of the 3rd Light Dragoons, was recorded as having been born in Melton, Leicestershire on the 1851 census. Rather than him being with Ann, he was living with a much younger wife Sarah. No regimental records found online.
