Narrative and Notes

Elizabeth GREWCOCK was born in about 1782.

She married Thomas Stanton BAILEY in 1808 in Hinckley. They had six children: Joseph, Elizabeth, William, Sarah, Ann and Thomas.

In 1841 an Elizabeth BAILEY is a cow-keeper of Priory Row aged '55' ie born 1780-85. She is living with her son Thomas and her brother David GREWCOCK. She is keeping cows which is consistent with her eldest son Joseph BAILEY later being a dairyman.

She died in Bedworth* on 16 June 1846 aged 64 of a condition related to having water around the lungs caused by cardiac, renal or liver disease. (* Probably in Nicholas Chamberlain's Hospital in Bedworth which had been extended in 1840.)

She is buried in Barwell with her husband and alongside other members of the GREWCOCK family.
