Narrative and Notes

Charles BEEVERS was born in about 1808/9. He was a horse-keeper and groom.

He married Hannah MARSH in 1832. They only had two children: George James 1831/2 and Mary 1834. Hannah died in 1839 and was buried in Selby on 2 Sep 1839.

He is identified as the father of George BEEVERS on his son's wedding certificate and was living with him in 1841 in Selby together with his cousin-in-law Harriet MARSH. Harriet had married his wife's brother. He is still in Selby in 1851.

By 1871 he was resident at the Union Workhouse in Selby, where he died of gangrene on 9 July 1972. He was buried on 11 July 1872 at Selby Church Yard.
