Narrative and Notes

In the comtemporaneous copy of the parish registers for 1756, the entry for 3rd June is "Will. son of John Stacks & [blank]". The IGI transcription states William and Ann STOKES, so perhaps that was transcribed from the original register. A burial for William Stokes on 6 Mar 1756 suggests that he was named in replacement for his older brother.
