Narrative and Notes

Robert ARCHIBALD was born in 1838/9 in Askrigg, Yorkshire. His family moved to Blackburn during the 1840's. In 1851, aged 12, he was working as a painter, possibly alongside his father and brother who were plasterers.

His death was reported in the Preston Herald on 11 Jul 1868: "ARCHIBALD - July 4, at his residence, Lower Audley, Blackburn, Mr Robert Archibald, plasterer, aged 28 years".
