Narrative and Notes

Firth ARCHIBALD was born in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire near Heptonstall where he was christened in 1825.

In the 1841 census he is living in Askrigg with his parents and is recorded as being 15, although this may have been rounded down. If accurate then he would have been born between 7 Jun and 19 Jun 1825.

Firth was named after his mother's maiden name. Firth was subsequently used as a christian name by the family for the next four generations.

Firth later moved with his family to Blackburn where he met his wife Betty. In 1851 they are living with his parents in Friday st and he is a plasterer like his father.
