Edmund SAGAR was a clockmaker. He was born in Askrigg in 1746 and was married in 1767 (or 1769). He was living in Middleham from 1772 to 1778, and from 1793 he worked in Skipton until his death in 1805. He was clearly a skilled clockmaker with his clocks still existing today including the ones pictured.
NB. Transcriptions of christening dates differ between Borthwick Institute and LDS/IGI sources. Also marriage year differs between Borthwick and Sotheby's source.
