Narrative and Notes

William BEEVERS was born in Mansfield, Notts in 1856/7. His father was a railway guard. William was a mechanic, but also worked on the railways.

He married Mary TURNER at Little Holbeck, Yorkshire in November 1877. Witnesses were Charles BEEVERS (a brother?) and Emma PENNEY.

He and his family appear to have moved around a great deal. His son, Fred, was born in Lincoln, his eldest daughter, Elizabeth, was born in Leeds and Eleanor was born in Leicester.

This may be explained by his later occupation as a railway foreman declared at the time of his daughter Eleanor's birth in 1884. By 1891, however, he had moved the family to 19 Sykes Street, Everton and was a general labourer. In 1901 he was a warehouseman at a clothiers in Liverpool.

Another known address for them is at 32 Laith Street, Liverpool.

Mary died on 6th November 1907 aged 50, and he died on 24th January 1911 at 7 Eaton Place, Everton.
