According to Electoral Register, in Spring 1926 Firth was living at 1 Rose Street. His sister Esther was at 2 Rose Street.
Mary Ann appeared in the Register with Firth for the first time in 1929, perhaps reflecting the passing of The Representation of the People Act in July 1828 which entitled everyone over the age of 21 to vote.
