William BARNES married his first wife, Ann HURST, in Desford in 1692, however their two children both died in infancy. Ann herself died in 1698.
In 1711 he married Prudence WARD of Atherston. They had five children together, although another three of his children died in infancy.
Their son William and daughter Prudence survived them however.
William was a cordwainer when he married Prudence, however a later apprenticeship record identies a William BARNES as a master weaver based in Hinckley. This may be another William BARNES.
William "the elder" died in March 1743 and his wife died a few months later.
Other information:
A William son of William BARNS was baptized in Hinckley in Dec 1692 and was buried on 24 Dec 1692. This is likely to be from William's first marriage.
