Elizabeth was born in Lofthouse, Yorkshire in about 1833-1836 depending on which data you believe.
Her father was John NEWBOULD, a miner. The birth certificate of her daughter Mary gives her maiden name as NEWBY, but the marriage certificate is NEWBOLT albeit with an extravagant curlicue after the final t. Censuses give his name as NEWBULT and NEWBOULD; and NEWBOLD is given in christening records.
She married Henry TURNER, also a miner, in Leeds in 1854. One of the witnesses was called Esther MOUNTAIN; perhaps she was her eldest sister. They had at least seven children between 1854 and 1876.
In 1861 she is in Mickletown, Methley with her three eldest children. Her age is given as 24. In 1871 she was living in Allerton Bywater with husband and four children. In 1881 she was living at 3 Denton Terrace, Castleford with her husband and her three youngest children. In 1891 she was still in Castleford with husband, and sons Henry and Alfred, where Henry is now a grocer.
Elizabeth died on 28 Jan 1897 of chronic nephritis (caused by toxins, infection or by an autoimmune disorder) and asthma. She was 62 years old.
