Narrative and Notes

Hannah/Ann JOY married John NEWBOLD/NEWBOULD in Wakefield in 1820. John was Hannah's (half) 1st cousin; Sarah JOW was grandmother to both of them.

Hannah's parents were James & Elizabeth JOY, who baptized a daughter Hannah in Rothwell on 16 March 1800 Rothwell "16 Hannah dr of James & Elizabeth Joy".

Her first child was also named James, but Elizabeth wasn't used until her 4th girl.

Joseph, her youngest child appears to have been born when Hannah was 47. Unless Joe was adopted.

Hannah died of bronchitis and heart disease on 6 May 1876, aged 76, while living at Lee Moor, Wakefield. Her daughter Mary WHITHAM was present at the death.
