Richard was born in Appletreewick, near Burnsall, Yorkshire in 1715. He baptized three children in Burnsall and nearby Bolton Abbey between 1738 and 1743.
No marriage record for a Richard SPURRIT or variants can be found in the 1730's.
There was a christening of a Richard SHARP OR SPURRET in Leeds in 1747 by Richard SHARP and Mary SPURRET, but this is unlikely to be related to Richard as it would meant that Richard left Appletreewick in the 1740, yet his daughter Jane married Solomon JOY in Pateley Bridge in 1758.
The only local death record is for a Richard SPIRRIT of 'Workhouses' in Leeds Minster on 1 Dec 1786. It is possible that Richard had retired to Leeds and ended up in the workhouse there or is it more likely this was the Richard SHARP/SPURRET that was christened in 1747?
