John lived in Stockingford near Nuneaton with his wife Mary. They baptized six children and all six survived into adulthood appearing in his will of 1724 in which he left his looms to his sons Thomas and John. Its possible that their eldest son, Joseph, had already been provided with a profession, land or other means by this time as he would have been 35 years old.
No wedding record for John and Mary has been found, and no compelling baptismal record for John found either.
If John was 25 when he married Mary in c. 1688, then he would have been born in c. 1663 and died aged 60.
Other information
Another John HANKINSON was a churchwarden at St Mary the Virgin, Astley, where John was buried and where his daughter Sarah was married and her children were baptized. John the churchwarden died in 1723, the year before John died. The connection between these John HANKINSONs is not yet understood, but perhaps he was John's father.
