Anna was the wife of John GOODMAN, and together they baptized six children in Shearsby, Leicestershire. No marriage in the period prior to these baptisms has been found in the area, so either record is still unavailable or they were married earlier.
The only possible earlier marriage was between John GOUDMAN of Countesthorpe and Anna MORTON of Mously on 20 Sep 1682. ("Mously" might refer to Mousley End, Warwickshire, 30 miles away, but could easily be some other placename as the spelling is somewhat erratic in these particular records.) John and Ann baptized at least two children in Countesthorpe: John in 1687 and Mary in Feb 1693/94, and buried a daughter Ann in 1688.
If Anna married in 1682, then a baptism dated 28 Jul 1655 in Buntingthorpe by parents William and Mary MARTON, is compelling, not least because Buntingthorpe is very close to Shearsby with a historic footpath directly linking the two.
