Ralph WALKER married Frances RAGG on 14 Jan 1727 in Middlesmoor. The record was annotated with "Bowthwaite", which may have been where he (or she) was living at the time. Bouthwaite is 2 miles down the valley from Middlesmoor towards Pateley Bridge which is 3 miles further.
Ralph baptized Jacob WALKER in Middlesmoor in July 1728.
In 1737 John WALKER, son of Ralph, was buried in Middlesmoor. At the time Ralph was living at Blawshaw, which is believed to be Higher or Lower Blayshaw, near to Lofthouse close to Middlesmoor. The building at Lower Blayshaw (pictured) still exists. They were still living there when Frances' mother Frances was buried in 1749.
Ralph died in 1773 while living at Ramsgill. Ramsgill is a village across the River Nidd from Bouthwaite.
There are no surviving local baptisms for a Ralph WALKER born 1680-1710.
Other information:
A different Ralph WALKER was the father of Alice (1717-19), Dorothy (1722-25) and Alice (1725-28) who were all baptized in nearby Bedale. This confirmed by marriage dates and the conflict between Alice's burial in Bedale in December 1728 and Jacob's baptism in Middlesmoor in July 1728.
