Narrative and Notes

Thomas JACKMAN was born in 1610 and lived in Embsay as did many of his descendents.

He married Mary OLDFIELD in Burnsall in 1638 under a license obtained in Skipton. Presumably she was from Burnsall.

They had six children in Embsay, all christened in Skipton.

A Thomas JACKMAN of Emsay was buried on 27 October 1678 in Skipton. He would have been 68 years old.

A probate record for a Thomas JACKMAN of Embsey, Skipton is dated 1689. This seems too late to be related to the 1678 burial.

Other information:

There was a Thomas JACKMAN of Skipton who was also active in Skipton in the 1620-40s, and who baptized Ann (1829), William (1632), John (1636), Ester (1639), Frances (1643) and Thomas (1648).
