Narrative and Notes

Gregory JACKMAN was baptized by his father Thomas JACKMAN of "Emsall" at Holy Trinity, Skipton in April 1649. Emsall, Empsay, Emsay are believed to all refer to current day Embsay which is just 1.5 miles NE of Skipton on the road to Burnsall.

He married Isabel WEST in August 1684 and they had six children between 1686 and 1696.

Gregory died in August 1698 having lived his whole life in Embsay, and was buried in Skipton on 24 Aug 1698. A probate record exists.
