Richard OLDFIELD lived near Crookrise, 2.5 miles north of Skipton. He may have lived at what is now called Owlet House - it was written "Awleter house" on his daughter Anne's baptismal record. (An awleter is a player of the flute.)

These Richard may have been the same Richard, or four different ones. If it was a single Richard then he could not have been the father of the Mary OLDFIELD who married Thomas JACKMAN in 1638, that is unless he had two surviving daughters called Mary.
