William LASSELL/LASSELLS/LASCELLE/LASCELLS was a husbandman or yeoman of Appletreewick. We know this from his burial record of March 1730.
William married Ann STAW in Burnsall on 14 June 1691.
It is not known how many children they had, but it is though that they included Joan who married Thomas JACKMAN of Embsay in 1720, Anne the daughter that William buried in 1702 and Thomas who himself buried children after he had married.
Agnes LOSSELL, a widow of Appletreewick, who died in 1716, may have been William's mother.
William died in March 1730.
Other information:
There were LASSELLS in Burnsall since at least 1625 and as early as 1583 when a Thomas 'LOWCOLL' (maybe LASSELL was pronounced Lo-sul). They were perhaps related to the Yorkshire LASCELLES family who were prominent sugar plantation owners, MPs and generals.
