Narrative and Notes

Thomas JACKMAN was born in Embsay, Yorkshire in 1690. He was baptized in Skipton on 24 Aug 1690 by his father Gregory JACKMAN of Embsay.

Between 1722 and 1725 he was a victualler from Embsay, near Skipton, but by 1727 he had become a farmer.

He married Joan LASSELLE in April 1720 and they went on have five children christened in Skipton between 1721 and 1728.

Thomas died in June 1754 and was buried in Skipton. His widow, Joan, died in January 1763.

A probate record in the Prerogative & Exchequer Courts of York Probate Index for 1759 lists 331 Thomas JACKMAN of "Empsay P. of Skipton".
