Thomas BROWNSWORD (or BROWNSORD) was a wheelwright from Syston, County of Leicester.
He married Dorothy MUSSON of Beeby, County of Leicester in November 1687. Beeby is 4 miles from Syston, lying on the other side of Barkby, where his grandson baptized his children.
Thomas and Dorothy had at least two daughters and two sons, but there may have been more. Elizabeth and Dorothy were mentioned in his will of 1726, and William, John and Dorothy were baptized in Syston. No baptism for Elizabeth has been found, so there may be other missing children.
Thomas' will was unusual in that there was no mention of God. This is more remarkable in that his daughter had married a Curate of Syston a few years earlier.
