George and Alicia BEVAN baptized a son Johannes BEVAN in St Briavels in 1677. There's no obvious connection between this John BEVAN and the the John BEVAN who was buried in Eldersfield in 1730/31.
Two other children, George and Elizabeth, were baptized in Tidenham, Chepstow, a port on the Severn Estuary. From Chepstow, boats would carry you quickly up to Tewkesbury, just 6 miles from Eldersfield.
Other information
An Alice BEVANS, a widow of Longdon, Worcestershire, less than 4 miles from Eldersfield, left a will dated 8 May 1677, 5 weeks after the birth of John.
