Narrative and Notes

Elizabeth was baptized in Skipton by Thomas JACKMAN, farmer, and Joan, of Embsay on 28 Mar 1721. Joan was Joan LASSETT of Appletreewick who had married Thomas in Burnsall on 26 Apr 1720.

Elizabeth JACKMAN married James JOY in Pateley Bridge in May 1740.

A possible burial is: Elizabeth JOY of Bewerley Poorhouse was buried on 30 Jan 1786.

Other information:

The only other baptisms of an Elizabeth JACKMAN appear to be too early:

- 1706 by Charles JACKMAN of Bppside (Pateley Bridge)

- 1708 by Jeremiah JACKMAN (Pateley Bridge)

- 1708 by Gulielmi JACKMAN of Lowbppside (Pateley Bridge)

There are no nearby marriages of an Elizabeth and a Mr JACKMAN so Elizabeth was not obviously a widow when she married James JOY.
