When Frances married William GILL she was living in Warsill, which is 2 miles due east of Pateley Bridge.
The family appeared to move around the area between Pateley Bridge and Ripon, possible because William was a seasonal labourer taking work where he could or perhaps the family was static and William was more peripatetic.
Possible baptisms for Frances include:
1685 - Ripon Cathedral by Thomas WOOD on 19 Jul 1685
1687 - Pateley Bridge by Thomas WOOD on 27 Jul 1687
1687 - Ripley by Arthur WOOD on 14 Aug 1687. Ripley is 4.5 miles from Warsill, and no easy route across fields. Arthur is not a name seen used in later generations.
Looking at all possible children of Thomas WOOD it is clear there was at least two of them; so it is not possible to identify a best candidate:
- Thomas - Jan 1683/4
- William - Feb 1684/5 of Hayshaw
- Margery - Aug 1684 in Kirby Malzeard
- Thomas - Oct 1684 of Wilsdale
- Frances - Jul 1685 in Ripon Cathedral
- Arabella - May 1686 of Low Bishopside
- Fran - Jul 1687
- Fran - 1687 in Ripley
- Matthias - Ocy 1689
- Thomas - Feb 1689/90
Possible burials include:
1728 - Francis GILL of Bishopside at Pateley Bridge 20 Aug
1728 - Frances GILL a poor widow of Dane pasture - 27 Oct
