Narrative and Notes

Thomas WELDON was christened on 20 Mar 1750/51 in Syston by Robert and Jane WELDON. His mother died in 1754 and his father in 1761.

It is likely that his extended family took him and his brother Robert in, and arranged apprenticeships. Thomas became a framework knitter, and Robert was apprenticed to a baker in Leicester.

Thomas married Elizabeth JOYCE in 1768, and they had four children christened: Robert, perhaps after Thomas' father, Thomas, Sarah and Hannah.

Thomas was buried on 20 Sep 1807 in Syston.
