An Anne NUSSAY of Appletreewick married John JOW of Greenhowhill in Burnsall on 4 Jan 1725.

The nearest christening for an Anne NUSSAY (or variants) was Anne NUSSEY on 6 Jun 1702 at Thornhill, Yorkshire by William NUSSEY of Overton. Thornhill in 36 miles south of Burnsall, between Huddersfield and Wakefield. Overton lies in the South Yorkshire coal fields - indeed it now hosts the National Coal Mining Museum. Although coal mining in the area was in its infancy in the early 18th century, it is possible that Anne's father was a miner who moved to Greenhow Hill lead mines for more regular work.
