Elizabeth DAY is identied as the mother of Ann Rebecca Day on her birth certificate.
In 1833 she married Thomas DAY, who was her father's half-brother (i.e. her half-uncle.) He may have been apprenticed to or working for her father who was a millwright.
They had five children together.
In 1838 her father, John DAY, died after accidentally drowning in the River Avon while trying to cross the partially frozen river, at night, and under the influence of alcohol. Thomas took over the millwright business.
According to the 1881 Census she was born about 1813/1814 in Evesham, however a christening for an Elizabeth DAY occurred in Evesham on Christmas Day 1815. The parents were John and Esther DAY who had been married in September 1813 also in Evesham, so it is more likely she was born 1814/15.
Elizabeth died of bronchitis and emphysema in 1883 aged 69.
