William BRATHERTON/BROTHERTON baptized Hester BRATHERTON in 1790 with his wife Mary.
A William BROTHERTON, aged 77, was buried in Evesham on 14 Jun 1831. This suggests a birth year of 1753/4, and he would have been 26/27 when his daughter Esther/Hester was christened.
It may be that William had a second child, Lucy, bap. 1795, however the mother in this case was Jane. This is entirely possible, however no burial record for Mary has been found between 1790 and 1795 nearer than a 1793 burial in Hanbury. No marriage records for either Mary or Jane have been found either, and no burial for Jane near Evesham.
Other information:
A Thomas BROTHERTON married Hannah MALPAS in All Saints, Evesham in 1743. An Elizabeth BROTHERTON married John BEAUFOY in Cropthorne in 1746. And Sarah BRATHERTON married Isaac COLE in Evesham in 1751. Are these related to William? Maybe if they were the children of Thomas and Betty BROTHERTON of Gloucester bap. 1727, 1731 and 1723 respectively.
A William BROTHERTON was convicted of larceny in 1816 at Worcester Assizes and received 6 months imprisonment. The same/another William BROTHERTON was convicted of larceny in 1829, this time receiving 7 days and a whipping. These are unlikely to be the father of Esther/Hester due to his age.
