Nancy DICKENSON was born in Cartmel, Lancashire which is now in Cumbria.
She married Robert KENDAL and together they had 13 children between 1811 and 1831.
Robert died in 1835, but Nancy continued farming 4 acres of High Oaks Farm and gave a home to Robert's 80 year old brother Thomas, and later to three of her grandchildren including Jane KENDAL's two youngest children.
Nancy KENDAL died on 8 July 1870, aged 80.
