Richard REYNOLDS was the youngest of 10 children. He was baptised in Upper Arley, Worcestershire in early January 1772. His parents were Joseph and Susannah REYNOLDS and tragically for Richard they both died when Richard was an infant; his mother when he was 6 months old and his father two years later.
Richard married Sarah FOULK in Oldbury, near Bridgenorth in 1794, probably as a result of Sarah's pregnancy. Richard and Sarah baptised a number of children between 1794 and 1807 as they moved generally south from village to village including Oldbury, Sidbury, Aston Botterell and Kinlet.
In 1841 Richard is living in Button Oak (1.5 miles from Kinlet where Sarah REYNOLDS was baptised, and 2 miles from Upper Arely) with "Elenor" REYNOLDS aged 70-74 born in Shropshire. The census record is very feint, but it does say "Elenor" rather than "Elizabeth". No marriage for a Richard REYNOLDS marrying an Eleanor has been found, so it is unclear what Elenor's relationship to Richard was.
In 1851 Richard, a widowed agricultural labourer, aged 78 and born in Upper Arley is living at Button Oak, Shropshire.
Richard died of "old age" in November 1852 in Button Oak. His age was given as 81 years old. Susannah CARTER, his landlady, was present at the death.
