Narrative and Notes

Susannah married John PARKS in Norton Le Moor, just north east of Hanley in January 1815. A Susannah TAYLOR had had banns read in the same church in 1812, but there is no record of that marriage going ahead, so perhaps she had had second thoughts.

John and Susannah's first child, Henry, was born in July 1815, so perhaps there was more urgency to wed on this occasion. It would be another 7 years before they baptized their second and last child, John, in 1822.

Susannah died in February 1833, aged 37, and was buried in Hanley.
