Narrative and Notes

There are two possible baptisms for Richard SOWERBUTTS, both in Ribchester which is 4 miles west of Billington where he was living when he baptized his first three children.

9 Nov 1702 Rich SOWERBUTS son of Jane SOWERBUTS in Ribchester
5 Dec 1708 Rich SOWERBUTS son of Thomas SOWERBUTS in Ribchester

The latter fits better if he married in c.1735 when he would have been 27 (rather than 33) years old. Also his first son was named Thomas while he had no daughter named Jane.
