Peggy COUNSELL was the second oldest of Richard COUNSELL's ten children. At his death in 1797 she was bequeathed one ninth of her father's goods and chattels, to be received after the death of his wife Mary.

of Mellor Cordwainer being wake in Body but
of sound mind and memory blessed be
almighty God for the same do make and
publish this my last will and testament
in manner and forme following that is to say
after all my debts and funeral expenses are paid
First I give and bequeath my beloved wife
Mary the use of all my household goods
so long as shee and my son Thomas and shee
my beloved wife Mary can agree to
keepe house to geather but if shee shall
consume or diminish ought of the said
goods then it shall be lawfully lawful for my Executor's
here after named to sell up all the said
household goods and chattles and give her the
interest of it so long as she shall live
and after her death
I give to all my children or ther lawfull
hars my personal estate goods and chattles of
what kind or nature so ever I give to all my children
